(Level A) $89,610 per annum plus an employer contribution of up to 17% superannuation may apply.

Fixed term, full-time position available for 10 months, with the potential for further work dependent on project progress and additional funding.

Exciting Postdoctoral Researcher opportunity commencing as soon as possible.

This is a joint project between researchers and clinicians in the Adelaide Medical School and School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. The aim of this project is the development of a standalone automated measurementcomputer aided design tool using plain pelvic radiographs to enable detection of early hip implant migration. This exciting collaborative project has the potential to help patients who have already had a hip replacement along with preventing harm to future patients. The project has a strong potential for commercialisation and involves the application of advanced image processing techniques and utilisation of machine learning algorithms to process 2D and 3D X-ray images to identify feature and image classification.

To be successful you will need:

A postgraduate degree (preferably PhD) in medical physics/biomedical engineering/applied mathematics.

Combined expertise in medical image analysis, medical data/image processing, and/or AI processing with proven multidisciplinary skills with the application of C++, Java, and Matlab/Simulink and the associated toolboxes and software development of Windows platform with graphical user interface (GUI) skills and user interface (UI) development.

Demonstrated ability to conduct independent research, including leading research and interest to guide and oversee postgraduate and honours students in the research area and supervise research support staff.

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate across disciplines and collaborate with industry.
